Summer Intensive Program


Dates: June 4-9, June 25-30, 2007
Location: Albuquerque, NM (specific site tba)
Instructor: Dr. Betty B. Kelley Certified GCDF Instructor

Program Content:

As instituted by the National Career Development Association (NCDA), this program requires a total of 120 hours, including a minimum of 80 hours of classroom instruction, with the remaining hours comprised of independent field project work, as contracted by participants.

Text: Career Development Facilitator Handbook (included in fees)

Fees: $1100 total, including the $100 non-refundable deposit due with registration.

Participants: Minimum 10, maximum of 20 people who currently provide, or wish to become qualified to provide, career development services such as job developers, career technicians, employment specialists, etc. for a wide variety of clientele.

Requirements for GCDF Certification: (as established by NCDA)

  • Graduate degree plus 1 year Career Development work experience
  • Bachelors degree plus 2 years Career Development work experience
  • Two years of college plus 3 years Career Development work experience
  • High school diploma/GED plus 4 years Career Development work experience

Summer Intensive Schedule: 2007

Deadline for registration - May 20,2007

Week 1-

Orientation, Introductions, Reception     June 4     1:30 - 5:30 pm
Classroom Instruction (Tues. - Fri./Sat. am)     June 5 - 9     8 am - 5 pm

Week 2-

Classroom Instruction (Mon. - Sat.)     June 25 - 30     8am - 5 pm

The Summer Intensive accounts for 80 of the required 120 hours. Thus, only 40 hours of independent "field projects" will need completed for certification.
